How to get to the museum by car?

From direction Vienna: over the Donauuferautobahn A22 and further over the highway direction Tulln or over the Riederberg on the B1 or over the Exelberg

From direction Krems: over the Kremser highway S5

From the north: over the B19 or the Kremser highway S5

From West Austria: over the Westautobahn A1, exit St. Christophen

From the south: over the Außenring-Autobahn A21, exit Altlengbach

Is there a possibility to park for free around the museum?

There is a no-parking zone directly in front of the museum. Please use the parking garage Albrechtgasse where you can park for 1 hour for free. There are some parking possibilities around the Egon Schiele Museum. These are located in the short-term parking zone in the central area of Tulln.

Is there a possibility to park bikes?

Because the Egon Schiele Museum is directly located along the Danube bike path it is possible to park your bike.

How long does the museum visit take?

We recommend a visiting time of about 90 minutes for the permanent exhibition “Egon Schiele private” and about 20 minutes [S1] for the “Treasury”. The works shown in the Treasury are changed yearly.

Is the museum accessible for wheelchair users?

The Egon Schiele Museum is partially wheelchair accessible. A separate ramp leads across the forecourt to the house. Immediately in the entrance area you can find disabled toilets and a wheelchair accessible cash desk. Stair elevators bring you from the treasury on the ground floor to the animated stations of Egon Schiele’s life on the first floor.

ATTENTION: Wheelchair accessible entrance to the studio on the second floor is unfortunately not possible at this stage.

Are dogs allowed in the exhibition area?

Only guide dogs are allowed.

Is the museum open daily?

The Egon Schiele Museum Tulln is open seasonally. The opening hours of the museum are:

March 30th – November 3rd 2019
Tuesday to Sunday, Holidays
10.00 – 17.00
Monday (except Holidays) closed

Are you allowed to take pictures in the museum?

You are allowed to take pictures in the Egon Schiele Museum with the exception of the Treasury on the ground floor.  

Is there a cloakroom in the museum?

There is a cloakroom with lockers in the entrance area. The museum is not responsible for valuable items stored in the lockers.

At what age do children pay admission?

Children under 6 years of age have free admission. Children from the age of 7 years pay a reduced admission fee of EUR 3,50. 

Can I eat at the museum?

Eating in the exhibition area is not allowed. There is however a table in the entrance area that can be used for a break.

When did the museum open?

The former city prison of Tulln opened on the occasion of the 100th birthday of Egon Schiele in 1990 as the first museum dedicated exclusively to the life and work of the artist.

Can I pay with a debit or a credit card?

Yes, we accept credit and debit cards.
